Why do a jigsaw puzzle?
A jigsaw is one of the few pastimes that keeps several kinds of thinking busy at once — you are judging shape, colour and orientation, holding a piece in mind while you scan for where it goes, and quietly building a map of the whole picture. It is absorbing without being tense, which is why people reach for one on a wet afternoon rather than a quiz.
JuJu’s version keeps the calm part and removes the clutter. There is no timer running unless you switch one on, no advertisement between pieces, no account to make, and no way to lose. What is added instead is the picture itself: every puzzle is a public-domain work from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, credited to its painter, so an idle twenty minutes leaves you knowing one more painting than you did before.

Where do the pictures come from?
Every picture is a public-domain work from the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Open Access programme, released under CC0. Each puzzle names the work and its painter and links to the museum’s own record for it.
How many pieces can I choose?
Twelve, 24, 48 or 96. Twelve is a couple of minutes and works on a phone; 96 is a proper sit-down puzzle on a desktop screen. Your best time is kept separately for each size, because they are not the same task.
Is there a new puzzle every day?
Yes. The daily jigsaw picks a different painting each day, the same one for everyone, and resets at midnight UTC. If you would rather choose your own, the main jigsaw lets you skip to another picture whenever you like.
What happens if I close the tab halfway through?
Nothing is lost. Where every piece sits is saved on your device, so you can come back to a half-built puzzle later.
