Mahjong Encore
The mahjong solitaire you know, with a tune running underneath. Every tile you pick up plays the next note of the melody, right on the beat, and every pair you clear rings out over the music. Clear the board and the whole melody joins in, then the next board is dealt for an encore.

Why play Mahjong Encore?
The music never stops to wait for you. The backing tune keeps going at its own gentle pace, and each tile you pick up chimes in on the next beat, in key, so whatever order you play the tiles in, it sounds as if you are playing along. A pair rings out just above the tune, and a cleared board is the moment the whole melody comes in.
There is no clock on screen, and Hint, Undo and Shuffle never run out. Every deal can be cleared, and if no open pair is left the tiles are shuffled for you. A board takes a few minutes and the next one follows straight on, and your board is saved as you play.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from classic mahjong solitaire?
The rules are the same: match two free tiles that are alike. What is added is the music: a tune plays all the way through and every tile you tap plays along with it. Boards are shorter too, 40 to 72 tiles, and a new one follows each one you clear.
Can I turn the music off?
Yes. Music and Sounds each have their own switch under the board, and the game remembers how you left them.
Which tiles are free?
A tile is free when nothing is on top of it and its left or right side is open. Tiles that are held in sit in a light shadow.
Which tiles match?
A tile matches another exactly like it. Any flower matches any flower, and any season matches any season.
Can every board be cleared?
Yes. Every deal is laid out along a way through it, and if no open pair is left the remaining tiles are shuffled so the board can still be cleared.
Is Mahjong Encore free?
Yes — free to play in your browser, with no account and nothing to download. Your board in progress stays on your own device.
Can I play it on a phone or tablet?
Yes. It plays on phones and tablets as well as computers, and the Full screen button gives it the whole screen.
