Why play Mahjong Snowsong?
Mahjong Snowsong keeps the mahjong tiles and changes what you do with them. Nothing is matched on the board: a tile you let go really falls, and it only passes through a gap wider than itself — in a narrower one it is caught until a tile holding it goes. The basket stacks whatever lands in it and only the top tile can be paired, so the game is in the order: free a tile’s twin before you add another, and never let the basket fill.
There is no clock and no move limit, so there is always time to study the gaps before a tap. Every level can be cleared, and a full basket only lays the same pile out again for another try. As the levels go on, iced tiles, ski lifts, turning snowflakes and snowman tiles that pair with anything come in, and hints and a refresh are earned along the way. Every tile you let go plays a note in time with the music, and your place is kept on this device, a level left half-way included.

How is this different from mahjong solitaire?
In mahjong solitaire you match two free tiles on the board. Here nothing is matched on the board: each tile you tap falls into a basket below and clears when it lands on a tile of its own kind. The basket holds four and only its top tile can be paired, so the order you let tiles go in decides the level.

Can every level be cleared?
Yes. Every level was built along a way through it, so it can always be cleared. If the basket fills, the same pile is laid out again exactly as it was, ready for a different order.
What do Hint and Refresh do?
Hint rings a tile worth letting go, and Refresh deals the tiles still in the pile again so that the level can still be cleared. A level begins with neither: clearing 10 pairs earns a hint, and 20 pairs a second hint and the refresh.
Which tiles pair with which?
A tile pairs with another exactly like it. Each flower and each season is a tile of its own, so plum pairs only with plum. A snowman pairs with any tile, and a tile in the colours of the northern lights changes every time you let a tile go and keeps the face it shows when it falls.
Can I play it on a phone?
Yes. It plays on phones and tablets as well as computers, and on a computer the Full screen button gives it the whole screen.
