Games are short. The table opens on a game to 5, a few minutes long, and the traditional game to 10 is one tap away. There is no clock and no account, your game is saved if you close the tab, and the table goes full screen with cards big enough to read on a phone.
The table teaches as you play. Your first hand is walked through one card at a time, the cards you are allowed to play are highlighted, the bidding tells you what most players would do with your hand, and every trick ends with the reason it was won. Your computer partner remembers the cards that have gone, leads trump back to you when it can, and is not shy about calling trump or going alone.

Is it free to play?

How do you play Euchre?
Four players in two partnerships, five cards each from a 24-card deck of nines to aces. One card is turned up, and each player in turn may order it up to make its suit trump, or pass; if all four pass, each may name another suit instead. The side that chose trump needs three of the five tricks — 1 point, or 2 for all five — and if they fall short they are euchred and the other side scores 2. Everyone must follow the suit led if they can. The first side to 10 points wins, or to 5 in the short game.
What are the right and left bowers?
Once trump is chosen, the jack of trump is the right bower, the highest card in the game, and the jack of the other suit of the same colour is the left bower, the second highest. The left bower counts as a trump for the whole hand: with hearts as trump the jack of diamonds is a heart, so it cannot be used to follow a diamond lead.
What does “euchred” mean?
It is what happens to the side that chose trump when it takes fewer than three tricks: the other side scores 2 points instead. It is the risk in every call, and the reason a weak hand is usually passed.
What does going alone mean?
A player who makes trump can play the hand without their partner, who sits it out. Take all five tricks alone and your side scores 4 points; three or four tricks still score 1, and being euchred still gives the other side 2.
Do you play “stick the dealer”?
No. If all four players pass on the turned card and then pass again on naming a suit, the hand is thrown in and the next player deals.
Can I play Euchre full screen?
Yes. The full-screen button takes the table over the whole screen with the cards at their largest, on a computer or a phone, and the same button or the Escape key brings you back.
Do I play against people or the computer?
Against the computer: your partner and both opponents are computer players, so you can think as long as you like, stop mid-hand and come back later. There are no leaderboards and nothing is compared against other players.
