Memory card game
Every level deals its picture cards face up. Take as long as you like to remember where each one is, press Flip the cards, then turn two over at a time to find the pairs. The first level is two cards by two, each level after it is a size bigger, and every miss costs a heart.

Why play this memory card game
It grows a size at a time. The first level has four cards, and every level after it adds a row and a column, so each one asks a little more of your memory than the last. Nothing is timed: you look for as long as you like and decide yourself when the cards turn over.
Every deal is new. The pictures are drawn at random from nearly a hundred cartoon pictures of small things and shuffled into new places each time, so no level can be learned by heart: what counts is remembering this deal. Hearts keep every turn honest: five on the first levels and more as the grids grow, with one lost for every miss.
Frequently asked questions
How do you play a memory card game?
The cards are dealt face up. Remember where each picture is, then press Flip the cards and every card turns face down. Tap a card to turn it over, then tap another: two with the same picture are a pair and stay face up, two that differ turn back over. Find every pair to clear the level.
How long can I look at the cards?
As long as you like. Nothing is timed: the cards stay face up until you press Flip the cards.
What happens when I turn over two different cards?
They turn back over after a moment, or at once when you tap another card, and you lose a heart. With the last heart gone the level is dealt again, with new pictures in new places.
How big do the grids get?
Level 1 is two cards by two, and each level is one size bigger, up to sixteen by sixteen on level 15. On a grid with an odd number of cells the middle cell is left empty.
Can I choose which level to play?
Yes. Every level is open from the start: use the arrows to move between them. The levels you have cleared are saved in this browser.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. It runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install. The biggest grids have small cards on a phone, so they are easiest on a larger screen or in full screen.
