Fruit Cottage
Tap a fruit to drop it into your basket: two alike, one on the other, clear, and the basket holds four.
How to play
- Tap a fruit to let it go. With a clear way down it falls, runs down a roof and lands in your basket.
- Two alike, one on the other in the basket, clear at once.
- A fruit with no twin under it waits in the basket. Only the one on top can be paired, so free its twin before you add another.
- A fruit falls only through a gap it fits. In a narrower one it is caught, and it falls on when a fruit holding it is let go.
- A tall pile sinks as its lowest fruit goes, and brings the fruit above it into view.
- The basket holds four. If a fourth fruit lands without clearing, the level is laid out again as it was.
- From level 2 some fruit are frosted: a frosted fruit can’t be let go until a fruit touching it has been, and thick frost, with two rings of ice, waits for two.
- Some fruit hang on a washing line, which moves along every time you let a fruit go, or on a cartwheel, which turns. The gaps between them open and close as they move.
- A fruit in a ring of colours turns into another kind every time you let a fruit go, and keeps the one it shows when it falls.
- Two keys stand beside the basket. Hint rings a fruit worth letting go; Refresh deals the fruit still in the pile again. A level begins with none of either and gives two hints and one refresh at most: a hint at 10 pairs cleared, a second hint and the refresh at 20.
- Take every fruit to clear the level.
What it trains
- No clock and no move limit: there is time to look at the gaps before each tap, so a level is worked out, not guessed.
- Each level can be cleared, and a full basket only puts the same fruit back for another go.
- Two hints and a refresh are earned in every level, for the moment nothing seems to fit.
- A tune the fruit plays along to, with a switch for the music and another for the sound effects.
Play Fruit Cottage in your browser: a fruit pair puzzle between two thatched cottages. Tap a fruit and it falls, through any gap wide enough for it, down a thatched roof and into your basket on top of the one before it; in a gap too narrow it is caught until a fruit holding it goes. Two alike, one on the other, clear, and the basket holds only four, so which fruit you let go, and when, is the whole game. Every level can be cleared, a full basket puts the same fruit back for another go, and your place is kept for next time.
