How to play

  1. Thirty-five cards sit in seven columns of five. Only the bottom card of each column is in play.
  2. One card sits face up beside the stock. Take any of those seven bottom cards that is one rank higher or lower than it.
  3. The card you take becomes the new face-up card, so a run can keep going down a column and across to the next.
  4. The ace connects to both the king and the two, so a run can pass straight through it.
  5. When nothing follows on, turn the next card from the stock. There is no redeal.
  6. Clear all thirty-five cards to finish. The name comes from the scoring: the fewer cards left, the better the round.

What it trains

  • Quick pattern spotting — seven choices at a time, and only one of them keeps the run alive
  • Rewards looking ahead: emptying a column early opens the card underneath it
  • Calm by design: no ads, no account, no time limit, unlimited undo, and every board can be finished

Play Golf Solitaire free online in full screen, with no download, no ads and no sign-up. Thirty-five cards are dealt into seven columns of five, and only the foot of each column is in play. One card sits face up: take any of those seven that is one rank above or below it, and it becomes the new card to follow. The ace joins both ends, so a run can pass straight through it. Turn a card from the stock when nothing follows on — there is no redeal, so the stock is worth spending carefully. Every deal here is checked before it reaches you and only solvable boards are dealt, and undo is unlimited.
