Mancala
Sow stones round the board: end in your store to go again, or in an empty pit to capture.
How to play
- Tap one of your pits to pick up all of its stones.
- They are sown counter-clockwise, one per pit, into your own store too but never into the computer’s.
- If your last stone lands in your store, you take another turn.
- If it lands in an empty pit on your side and the pit opposite has stones, both go into your store.
- When either side runs out of stones, the rest go to the store on their side. The bigger store wins.
What it trains
- Counting and planning on every turn: where the last stone lands decides what happens next.
- Eight computer opponents, each a step stronger than the one before; the first four each have their own way of playing.
- A soft tune the stones play along to, with a switch for the music and another for the sound effects.
Play Mancala online in your browser against the computer. Six pits on each side start with four stones each: pick up every stone in one of your pits and sow them counter-clockwise, one per pit, into your own store but never the computer’s. End in your store and you go again; end in an empty pit on your side and you capture the stones opposite. When one side runs out, the game is over and the bigger store wins.
