Gomoku
Take turns placing black and white stones. Five in a row wins.
How to play
- Choose a computer — Easy, Hard or Master — and whether you go first or second. Black always goes first.
- Click a point where two lines cross to place your stone. On a phone, tap once to pick the point and again to place it.
- Get five of your stones in an unbroken row, across, down or diagonally, to win.
- Watch the computer’s rows: a four with an open end must be blocked at once.
What it trains
- Reading the board on every turn: block the computer’s rows before they grow, and build two threats at once.
- Three computers to choose from: Easy for a first win, Hard that only a double threat beats, and Master, which plans ahead.
- Every stone has a soft sound of its own, and one button turns the sound off.
Play Gomoku online in your browser against the computer, on a 15 × 15 wooden board. Black moves first; take turns placing a stone where two lines cross, and be the first to get five in an unbroken row — across, down or diagonally. Choose whether you go first with black or second with white, and choose the computer: Easy, Hard or Master.
